Nutritional Value of Fruit

Most parents prefer their child eat fruit rather than candy. Fruit is better for them for so many reasons. One reason being that there is only natural sugar in fruit not processed so your child won’t get hopped up on sugar and it is less likely like that fruit will be a contributing factor in childhood obesity.

Fruit as a whole category of food has better nutritional value of any food your child will eat. Fruits and vegetables are the highest rated snack food among pediatricians. Kids should get their daily nutritional valve of fruit, which are 5 to 6 servings a day. It sounds like a lot but it really isn’t. The nutrition can come from juices as well as fruit.

Fruit offers Vitamin C from fruits like oranges, apples, blueberries, blackberries, bananas, kiwi and grapefruits. They are the best fruits to get the daily allowance of vitamin c. Fruits are a great source of Vitamin A, the fruits that are high in vitamin A are apricots, mangos and avocado.

Fruit also gives children as well as adults a natural energy that can only come in something so pure. You can get energy from candy but that comes from processed sugar and once it wears off you feel worse than you did before you ate the sugar.

Fruits are available all year round, they are healthy for you and if you are watching your weight or are just trying to eat right, then fruit is the way to go. It has even been said that eating fruits and vegetables can help ward off certain types of cancers.
